The movie is far from perfect, and its flaws are easy to see. First, its pace keeps it from being great. After a fast start, the movie slows down and almost stays that way until the end, focusing on atmosphere more than anything else, before picking up in its last act. This faster pace helps the last act, but the movie as a whole would have done much better if it had been like this the whole time. Next, the dialogue didn’t make sense and didn’t fit with the story. Even though the cast did their best with it, they couldn’t hide how silly it was. But the actors weren’t exactly on their best behavior either. With actors like John-Kamen, Booth, Meaney, and Kristian Nairn in it, the movie should have had better acting than it did.
At the end of the day, Unwelcome is just plain fun. Its silly ending helps make up for many of its flaws, but it can’t hide them. This Irish creature doesn’t make much or any sense, but by the time the credits roll, people won’t care and will just enjoy the wild rollercoaster ride. If you like B movies from the past, this one might scratch that itch. Those who don’t like this subgenre, on the other hand, can easily skip it. Visit O2tvmovies for more.
